On Thursday, 13th May 2021, US President Biden announced that people who are already fully vaccinated need not wear face masks in public. This very exciting news was very welcome to a lot of people since millions had completed their vaccination requirements in the US. Many medical professionals however, think that we still need to wear face masks in public. Here’s why.

Even though half of the population had been vaccinated, the other half is not, in most cases, the other half are people ages 15 years and younger. These people I believe is a very vulnerable group. Fortunately, their age group is now eligible for Covid-19 vaccines here in the US. Hopefully they all get it very soon.
Another reason is most public places (if not all) will not allow people to enter the premises without face masks. This goes for retail shops, supermarkets, restaurants, churches and others even post offices and public transportation. There are still people out there who had not been vaccinated or completed the process so wearing face masks is still highly recommended when going out in public preventing the spread.
The news the US president announced a few days ago is a good sign the US is on its way to recovery. Perhaps the next step would be to send our children back to the classrooms and to open office buildings for employees. Hopefully more restaurants, cafes and shops will open very soon, at least in the US. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for other countries where the death toll rises every day. Governments are failing its citizen the private citizens who are able are taking action instead. To the rest of us, this is a very sad thing to see. Let’s all do our part to save many lives so we can all go back to normal – new normal for some.

Stay Safe and Healthy Everyone.
